The Usual Chat

I have been using a computer for about fifteen years now and can manage to do most things (with a little help from Nigel King now and again) but one type of program that I seldom use, strange to say, is a word processor.

I only use this when typing up the text for Barry's books. Spreadsheet, Database, Desktop Publishing and even graphics programs I get on well with but I always struggle with Microsoft Word.

Typing the text, of course, is simple enough but the program seems to have a will of it's own. I get into a tangle with the tab stops and the text seems to roam all over the place and I constantly have to change the font and formatting. The problem, I know, is mainly because I scan in text that Barry has written with his own computer but we use the same program, font and spacing.

Tab positions and paragraph spacing seem to have wills of their own. I can put things right but it does take time.

Still I suppose it is all part of this hobby of ours. Must get on with the housework now. Whoops! There goes the 'phone again. Where is all this free time I am supposed to have?

IF YOU CAN TALK ABOUT OR DEMONSTRATE ANYTHING
