As we come to the end of another year we find ourselves still struggling for members. Our membership is at an all time low. The good thing is that the members we have are very supportive and most have been members for many years. We do have the odd person coming along to meetings but it seems that as soon as they have sorted out a problem that they may have had we see them no more. While we are happy to assist anyone the rent still has to be paid and this is not easy with the small membership that we have. The rent has just been increased considerably (to over £35.00 per meeting) and in view of the many things offered by schools at little or no charge we find it difficult to compete. The members that do attend meetings are for the most part regular and seem happy to chat about anything. The big attraction that we can offer is the use of the internet with help on hand for anyone that needs it. We only have enough cash in hand to keep us going for another 6-7 months at this new room rental so we will have to raise the attendance charge and/or take a supplementary annual subscription as, at the moment, this remains at £10.
That's the commercial out of the way and it's now time to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year. I am afraid that being by myself, I have very little time to devote to this newsletter so I will close thanking all members for their support this past year. I thank once again, Nigel King and Bryan Coleman particularly as without them we would have no club.
